for her

For all the women who keep showing up…
For the one who holds it all together on the outside,
while quietly asking God for strength on the inside.
For the woman who wonders if what she’s doing matters.
If the small things count.
If she is seen.
This is for her.
There’s a quiet kind of faith that doesn’t always get recognized. Much like the perseverant spirit of a mother.
It doesn’t look like big, bold moments or perfectly worded prayers.
Sometimes it looks like getting out of bed when your heart feels heavy.
Like choosing patience when you’re stretched thin.
Like whispering “Lord, help me” under your breath in the middle of an ordinary day.
It’s the kind of faith lived out in kitchens, in car rides, in long nights and early mornings.
In the unseen places.
And the truth is—God meets you there.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
He is not waiting for you to have it all together.
He is near in the middle of the mess, the doubt, the exhaustion.
So often we think we need to bring Him something impressive—more discipline, more time, more perfection.
But what He asks for is simple:
your presence. your heart. your willingness to come as you are.
Mother’s Day is coming up, the time of year for gushing over that special woman in your life. The one who held you when you cried, taught you how to bake cookies, who has worried, and cherished, and supported…always.
That woman can sometimes feel as though her effort is not fully noticed. And frankly she’s probably right. As a daughter to a wonderful mom, I know for sure there were times growing up where I did not fully appreciate the depth and breadth of her love.
The sacrifice of her time, attention, her ability to hold her pee…sorry bout that. 😉
So this letter is for her.
For the woman who feels like she’s falling behind—you’re not.
For the woman who feels overlooked—you’re not unseen.
For the woman who feels like she’s not doing enough—are carrying more than you give yourself credit for.
God sees the effort.
The quiet obedience.
And none of it is wasted. Even when your children may not fully show it, you are loved, and worthy of all the love and support you have given over the years.
So today, let this be your permission to soften.
To release the pressure to be everything for everyone.
To rest in the truth that you are deeply loved—not for what you do, but for who you are, and whose you are.
To be a woman is one thing: bold, beautiful…fun!
To be a mother is an ideal beyond measure, something worthy of true appreciation.
God seems to have a special connection to women. Throughout the Bible, when a woman calls on God, He answers, oftentimes personally and quickly.
A true girl dad. 😉
Which makes every step we take further into life feel softer, knowing we have a Father looking out for us.
So this Mother’s Day I give thanks for all the daughters who became mothers, for all the women who show God’s love and light to the world by just being who they are, for all the ways women support each other.
Happy Mother’s Day. 🤎
